Jagermeister
Jagermeister is perhaps one of the most infamous liqueurs on the market today. This popular digestif, drink meant for consumption after a meal, is a 70 proof liqueur distilled in Germany from 56 different herbs and spices making it way more complex than the Colonels chicken.
It was first produced by a man named Curt Mast, an avid hunter who gave it the name due to this reason. Jagermeisters literal translation means “hunting-master”. The deer on the label gives the misconception that the drink contains the blood of a deer, this is only a rumor and deer blood is not one of the ingredients in this popular herbal liqueur.
